Juicing and Hair Loss – How Juicing Can Improve Hair’s Health

We’ve all heard of the benefits of raw juice for our health. Raw juice has been recognised for its health benefits, to the degree that it’s become mainstream and we are now beginning to realise the benefits of it for cosmetic purposes too.

Juicing for Hair Loss

Hair loss is something that’s conjured up many questions for medical professionals. For example, why do some of us experience more hair loss than others? Hair loss can be related to our genetics as well as our lifestyles and other environmental factors. There are different juice recipes that can be made which will help to create an alkaline, as opposed to acidity, state in the body. Vegetables such as kale, broccoli, spinach and cucumber create an alkaline state and these are a good place to start.

  • Basic Almond and Vegetable Juice

Many recipes use a combination of these vegetables and almonds in order to create a drink that’s smooth and tasty to drink. We will prove you with a basic recipe to begin with:


  • 2 x carrots
  • 1 x cup of almonds (raw)
  • 4 x cauliflower florets
  • 1 x stalk of celery
  • ½ cup of blackberries or strawberries
  • ¼ cup of cucumber
  • A handful of kale or spinach


  1. The almonds need soaking overnight. Next, you will need to put them in your juicer/blender and juice them until you left with just pulp.
  2. Take out as much of the cream as you can and then use a muslin cloth to extract the almond milk from the pulp.
  3. Finally, add either the berries/vegetables and juice until you achieve the consistency that you desire.

This is an easy and popular recipe which can be altered so that you can include the vegetables that you like the most. The state of your body affects the state of your hair. Although genetics play a factor with regards to hair loss, minerals and nutrients can also have a positive impact on our hair and help to reduce toxins within the blood.

  • Lemon and Ginger Juice

Another recipe for a juice that helps to alkalise the body.


  • 3 x oranges
  • 2 x limes
  • 2 x lemons
  • ½ inch of ginger


  1. Juice the oranges, lemons and limes and add the ginger.

As the ginger and citrus combine, they will help to create an alkaline state in your body which will not only help with hair loss, it will also help to aid a better digestive system.

Improving Hair Growth

Aside of helping with hair loss, fruits and vegetables can also improve hair health and assist with hair growth. Consider making juices with these fruits and vegetable to help with hair that’s falling out or thinning.

  • Kiwi Juice

Kiwis are full of vitamin and this help to improve hair growth. If you consume a good amount of vitamin E, your hair will grow faster. Kiwis can also help with our immunity and a good immunity can prevent hair from falling.

  • Guava Juice

Guava juice is full of anti-oxidants as well as nutrients such as folic acid, iron and calcium. Guavas needs to be eaten raw or drunk in juice form in order to reap the benefits. Additionally, the leaves of the guava can be boiled for 20 minutes and then applied directly to the hair.

  • Aloe Vera Juice

The juice from the aloe vera plant can help to stop hair loss. Hair can become stronger and less likely to break if the vitamins from the aloe vera plant are consumed. The enzymes in the juice can help as a moisturiser and deeply nourish the scalp and therefore it is effective with an itchy scalp or dandruff.

  • Carrot Juice

Carrots are enriched with beta-carotene which provides shines and colour to the hair. Vitamin C from the carrots can help to nourish the scalp.

  • Garlic Juice

Garlic was used in the past as a treatment for the hair. Garlic can help to improve the quality of the hair as it provides nourishment to the hair follicles. When the residue of the garlic is placed on the hair, it increases blood flow to the scalp. In turn this makes the hair smooth and provides shine to sleek hair.
